FIREWORKS & CUDDLES

I was awakened at 650am this morning by the sounds of fireworks! (fyi: windows are not double-glazed, we are serenaded by car horns and bike-beeps all through the night, even from the 28th floor!) The fireworks lasted about 15 minutes... my guess is they were rehearsing for New Years' Eve? Who knows? And why at such an early hour? That's China for you!

When I finally crawled out of bed at 704am, Josh and I stood by the window and saw the sparkles of bright lights, through the fog, behind some trees along the river that snakes in front of our hotel. Both Miranda and Jin slept through it all.

30 minutes later, we packed the family into our King bed and cozied up together.
Josh asked, "Are you sure you want us to come into your germy bed?"
"It's about time!" I declared.

As I lay in bed with the expanded family, I thought to myself...
Indeed, Jehovah has perfected all my concerns! From Miranda's attachment & bonding abilities, to her physical & emotional wellbeing, the way she has taken to our family, and become so much a part of us so quickly. Our health is slowly being restored as we take this week to bond and recuperate. I know that I know, that His lovingkindness endures forever!

Miranda was a little overwhelmed with 3 others persons all over her at the same time... but she quickly got used to it. She let us tickle her, slobber over her (not me!) and smother her with cuddles and kisses. What a wonderful way to start the day!

What an amazing start to the day. Just proof that the simple things in life can be so fulfilling even during adversity. What a miracle for your whole family and such a blessing for a little girl that now is learning the meaning of a true family. My heart is full; I know yours must be exploding with joy! Safe travels back to the states.

May and Jin -

I thoroughly enjoyed your comment in your journal entry saying, "I know that I know, that His lovingkindness endures forever!" There are many things about God that our minds know but when our hearts also see, then we know what it is to truly KNOW. That is a beautiful experience as we discover, see, breathe and enjoy God's love and faithfulness.

When we did Sam's baby announcement, we used a quote from Helen Keller......"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, but are felt with the heart." This quote kept coming back to my mind as we have followed your adoption experience on your wesite. So many beautiful experiences with Miranda being placed in a loving family and parents receiving a child that many have been praying for. And seeing God stretch your faith and now reveal Himself to you as a faithful and loving God.

Can't wait to meet Miranda soon and we are praying for your family. Thanks for sharing this very personal experience with all of us and being such an encouragement through it all!

Hugs and kisses all around-

Truly, life is beautiful. Beholding the wonder of new life, watching Miranda embrace life with such vigor and enthusiasm is so refreshing! Watching her relationships blossom with Daddy and big brother as they play and tease each other daily.. bring such JOY to our lives.

Thank you for your friendships too. Your love and support as you share in our adoption journey is also a refreshing joy to our lives. We thank God for each one of you!
