A YEAR ON...

This time last year, we had just submitted our adoption papers. We had been prepared for a 9 month wait to hold our baby girl in arms. I (the Optimist) was planning a trip to China in May, Jin (the Realist) figured June/July. Sometime in May, the referral process slowed to a snail's pace. I cancelled our flight reservations.

Today, we are exactly a year away from the day our adoption papers were logged with CCAA. The current referral date is July 22, which means there are still 6 weeks of applications ahead of us. At this rate, I am hoping for a trip during Christmas (at best), otherwise Chinese New Year 2007.

Only God knows the reason for the delay. We have asked and prayed earnestly for Miranda. And we have the assurance that "my ways are higher than your ways, so are my plans higher than your plans." We are fully submitted to the Lord's timing, we know that at the full hour, we will receive our referral and be ready to parent a little girl, perfectly chosen for our family.
