Adoption Finalized, US Immigration Update

100% Singaporean, 50% American

We have officially finalized Miranda's adoption process as of July 27, 2007. She is now a full-fledged Singapore citizen, just like the rest of her family. Yay!

Our US status remains mis-aligned as a family. 50% are American Permanent Residents, 50% are Resident Aliens. As of yesterday (August 13), Daddy is no longer an American PR. Only Mommy and Joshua have their PR status in tact. At the American Embassy yesterday, Daddy abandoned his green card, and re-applied for a H1B (Work visa) in order for Miranda to be attached as his dependant. By the end of this week, they will both receive their passports with US Visas that allow us to travel back to the US this weekend.

It has been a long and eventful two months in Singapore. We're glad to have a resolution to our immigration nightmare... and are looking forward to some peace and quiet back home in Charlotte. Together, at last!
