News from Singapore

24 hours after our arrival in Singapore, we encountered a problem following a visit to the US Embassy. Miranda's re-entry visa was rejected .. meaning she will be unable to re-enter the US in August as planned.

Our visit to Singapore was to initate the finalization proceedings for her adoption. As you can imagine, this has sparked a huge battle involving US immigration.. even before our first scheduled adoption appointment! We are aggressively exploring all avenues to find ways to circumvent this latest, unexpected turn of events. Immigration lawyers are on our case in New York, Singapore and Hong Kong. We're praying for a favorable outcome to surface in the near future. Meanwhile, we are having to proceed expeditiously with the adoption finalization by all possible means.

We met our post-placement officer for the interview today. Miranda kept busy demonstrating her independent-play skills, and even managed to solicit a special chocolate treat from the officer! :)

May--We are praying for you back here. God can make a way where there seems to be no way (as you well know). Praying for you all.
