Kindergarten has been a breeze for her, only because of her excellent attitude toward school! She definitely has a curiosity to learn, and make friends. That has helped her so much in her ability not only to adapt, but to thrive in school! She makes friends easily (she is one of those kids who walks down the corridor and says hello to almost a third of the people, even 5th and 6th graders - like her brother's friends!), and make a great effort to be a good student, her teachers say she tries very hard, and she has made great progress!
Some examples :
1. She can now read level 1 books, and it has given her confidence to read road signs, banners, headlines, cereal box promotions... anything!
2. She can write - she wrote all 8 thank you cards for her birthday, and wrote me a mothers' day card, too sweet!
3. She has regular playdates each week, and has invited more friends over than Josh did at this age.
4. She is keen to learn math with Daddy and can now count by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, and 10s.
5. A noticeable change has been her independence and greater confidence about herself, that she is able to share and give in more willingly to her little brother. I've seen some great strides in her ability to control herself especially after her brother has destroyed something she has painstakingly been working on. Instead of getting mad, she understands that he doesn't mean what he does. She is very giving with Jon Jon.
So it is... as years go by, we learn a little more, and gain a little more wisdom.
Baby girl, you are now 6! Mommy is so very proud of the big girl you've become. I love you like crazy cakes, still!!
