True to a 6 year old, she is obsessed about princesses. No wonder when she learned about the royal wedding (from school, no less) she told me I had to wake her up to watch the procession. I did. Right as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got ready to leave Westminster Abbey to board their coach ride to Buckingham Palace, I woke my little princess from deep slumber (at 7:00am, she usually sleeps till 8:00), and together, we huddled on the couch to watch the royal procession!
She took it all in, in wide-eyed wonder. Wow, a real princess. She is so beautiful! I love that dress! Mom, will I look like her when I get married? Look at her crown! I can wave just like her (NOT the wild, flappy style!) I want to watch them kiss! Oh Mom! You missed the 2nd kiss!
Precious.
And I was thinking about it this afternoon, I thought to myself, I'm so glad I have a daughter to watch the royal wedding with! How often does this get to happen? She may be just 6, but she gets it! By the time the next royal wedding comes around, she may no longer be interested to watch it with Mom. I'm so glad we got to share some girly time together this way.
Since we're on the topic of weddings (I told you she's been churning this excitement in her head!), she had this conversation with Dad at bedtime last night:
M : "Dad, when I get married one day, I will make sure I come home and visit you and Mom."
D: "Yes, you must. We will be so lonely, it would be very nice that you come visit."
M: "And I will drink tea and chat with Mom."
D: "Oh? And what about me?"
M: "No, my husband will talk to you."
D: "I can't sit and have tea with you?"
M" "No, only girls can have tea."
