Ever since Christmas...

Here's what's been going on ever since Christmas Day:

25 Dec - After the presents were opened on Christmas morning, our Christmas tree and decorations were taken down.

26 Dec - The packers arrived at 830am and packed up our house into 95 boxes! It took 3 of them 7 hours to finish the job! By the end of the day, our house was bare except for our furniture and beds. We ate dinner at the Ohonmes'.

27 Dec - Josh and Ming spent the day at the Whitsitts' while the movers arrived. By 5pm, the entire house was loaded on the moving truck, including our dear old Saab! The kids returned home at 5pm to say goodbye to neighbors and our house - and we drove out of our neighborhood at 6pm. We spent the night at a hotel in Charlotte.

28 Dec - We left Charlotte at 830am and arrived in McLean VA at 4pm. The Sheraton at Tysons Corner became our temporary home for the next 3 nights.

29 Dec - Met the landlords and collected our keys. Went shopping at Ikea Woodbridge, and had dinner with Shaun, Yoko and family.

30 Dec - Josh and Ming spent the day at the Ngs' while we unloaded the truck. 5 guys unloaded and (partially) unpacked our boxes from 9am - 2pm. It was a crazy day! By 6pm, the house was still in a messy state, probably 50% still in boxes everywhere.

31 Dec - Left the kids at the Ngs again. Shaun and Jin laid the carpet in the rec room downstairs while I set up the kitchen and bedrooms. We collected the kids at 5pm and came home to occupy our new home for the first time. (80% unboxed)

1 Jan - Happy New Year! After a late breakfast, the kids played all day in their new rec room, while we continued to unpack. By the evening, we had progressed to 95% and enjoyed a Peking Duck dinner with the Ngs.

2 Jan - First day of school for Joshua!! He had a great day! Hooray!
